After an exhilarating trek or a day exploring Sabah’s wilderness, there’s no better way to unwind than at Poring Hot Spring. Nestled within a tropical rainforest, this hidden gem is famous for its natural sulphur-rich hot springs, believed to have therapeutic healing properties.

Located about 40 minutes from Kinabalu Park, Poring Hot Spring is a convenient and enriching detour for nature lovers. The name “Poring” comes from the local Kadazan-dusun language, meaning bamboo, a nod to the abundant bamboo species in the area. When Kinabalu Park was gazetted as a national park in 1964, its vast 750 square kilometers (300 square miles) area included the Poring Hot Spring enclave, recognizing its ecological and cultural value.
Sink into the soothing waters as you listen to the gentle rustling of the jungle, or venture beyond the pools to discover breathtaking waterfalls, vibrant butterfly gardens, and the thrilling canopy walkway high above the treetops. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, Poring Hot Spring offers the best of both worlds.
